About Motodle

I built Motodle because I like old motorbikes and I wanted a small puzzle to do with my morning coffee. Guess the make, model and year of a real motorbike in five tries. The photo starts on a tight crop and zooms out a little with every guess. There is a new one every day, and it is a hobby project I make on my own, in the spirit of Wordle and the daily games that came after it.

Privacy

Motodle has no accounts, no cookies, no third-party trackers and no third-party scripts, and your guesses, stats and settings live only in your own browser. The CDN that serves the site keeps an access log for 90 days with the page requested, the query string, the referring site, the browser user-agent and the country. Visitor IP addresses are not logged, and nothing in that log identifies you.

Photos and licensing

The code is MIT and you can read all of it on GitHub. The site's own wording, layout, puzzle selection and crops are mine, © 2026 Chris Wallace. The photos come from Wikimedia Commons under their own Creative Commons or public domain licences, which travel with the photos, and each round's result screen shows the credit and licence for that day's photo.
